Friday Fabric Finds is Back!!

I've made a few major life changes this year, which has meant I have more time and energy for blogging (yay!!), and something I enjoy doing is sharing what's new in my sponsors shops. It's a bit of eye candy for my readers, and it's a nice way for me to say thanks to these shops for continuing to support my little blog :o). So I'm planning on getting back to my Friday Fabric Finds posts, hopefully once a fortnight.

Since it has been SO long since I've done one of these posts, I thought I'd do a quick introduction about each of my sponsors in this post. First up is Sew Me a Song - the very first business I approached to ask if they would like to sponsor my blog. Sew Me a Song is run by Becca, in Maine in the United States. Becca has a beautifully curated little shop, with a focus on fabrics by Japanese designers such as Suzuko Koseki, Nani Iro, Yuwa and Isso Ecco. Becca also stocks a lovely selection of basics such as dots and stripes, and gems from designers like Melody Miller, Anna Maria Horner and many more.

Probably my favorite section in Becca's shop is her beautifully curated bundles. Some of these are put together by designer, such as this AMAZING Suzuko Koseki bundle. Suzuko is one of my absolute favorite designers, and this bundle of fat sixteenths is an awesome way to get a huge selection of her prints.

Another one of my favorites is this text bundle by Kei for Yuwa. These are 55% linen/45% cotton and give such a gorgeous texture to projects. I sneak these fabrics into quilts whenever I can ;o).

Polka Dot Tea Fabrics is an Australian-based fabric shop, run by my friend Heidi who lives in beautiful outback Australia, in Bomballa, New South Wales. Polka Dot Tea started up a couple of years ago, and she is knocking it out of the park with the range of fabrics on offer. Heidi and I have incredibly similar taste in fabric, and ALL my favorites are featured there (Heather Ross, Lizzy House, Anna Maria Horner, Tula Pink and Carolyn Friedlander - just to name a few!) Heidi has complete bundles of a huge range of collections, or you can buy fat quarters or yardage of all of them.

I've been seriously eyeing off Heather Ross's latest gorgeousness, Sleeping Porch. The colours in this collection are just spectacular - and it's printed on cotton lawn which is dreamy to work with.

I don't think it's any secret that I'm a massive fan of Carolyn Friedlander (I think every single quilt I've made since Architextures came out has at least one of her prints in it) - and this bundle is pretty delicious. Carolyn's fabrics are just so incredibly useful, the perfect modern blenders.

Last of all, I'm certain you have heard of my long-time sponsor, the Fat Quarter Shop. They are based in Texas in the United States and stock a massive range of fabric, patterns and haberdashery. A few of my new favorites there are Pond, Elizabeth Hartmann's latest collection for Robert Kaufman.

And of course Friedlander by Carolyn Friedlander. I was lucky enough to win a bundle of this as one of my prizes at the Australian Modern Quilt Show last year, and am using lots of these in my current project. It's another winner for sure.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! We are enjoying the end of an especially long summer - it's been warmer over the last few weeks that most of our proper summer which has been lovely! I'll be back next week to share a few of my recent project beginnings!

Friday Fabric Finds

Welcome to Friday Fabric Finds, where I share what's new and shiny in my sponsor's shops, along with any sales or specials they have running. And there are a LOT of sales on offer this weekend!

Polka Dot Tea have a huge range of gorgeous fabric in stock right now - including the full collection of Tiger Lily by Heather Ross. I'm a huge HR fan, and this collection definitely doesn't disappoint - so much fantastic fussy cutting potential, and Heather's classic mix of soft and saturated colours. There are even some gorgeous low volume prints in there!

At Sew Me a Song, Becca has a huge range of fabrics on sale - over 100 fabrics are 25% off and the clearance section (50% off) is very well stocked too. I'm a bit obsessed with teal fabric at the moment, so this gorgeous stripe really caught my eye - how good would this be for binding? I've actually been sewing with this one today - it made its way into one of my Farmers Wife blocks. I'll be sharing the tutorial for that next Friday!

Frangipani Fabrics have 25% off all Amy Butler, Anna Maria Horner and Kaffe Fassett fabrics from now till the 5th October. This includes some beautiful fabrics, including AMH's Folk Song collection and Violette from Amy Butler. The sale ends on Monday, so get in quick!

Pink Castle Fabrics have just received Elizabeth Hartman's debut fabric collection - Rhoda Ruth - for Robert Kaufman. I am a massive fan of Elizabeth's patterns (and have been teaching several of her patterns at Frangipani Fabrics over the last few months) - and I'm a bit besotted with this collection. Elizabeth's sense of colour is just so good, and these are the kinds of prints I'd use time and time again.

Pink Castle also have a couple of sales running this week - you can take 20% off all books and magazines this week with the code BOOK20. Not only that, they have drastically reduced lots of sale fabric - you'll find a tonne of stuff in there for as little as $4 per yard. Time to stock up on some quilt backs perhaps?

Last but certainly not least, the Fat Quarter Shop are offering 20% off all Cotton and Steel fabric. Again, you'll have to be quick, as the sale ends on Sunday 4th October at midnight CST!

Happy shopping!

Friday Fabric Finds

I have a bunch of great things to share with you for this weeks Friday Fabric Finds post. Admittedly there hasn't been a whole lot of actual sewing in my house this week (the ick continues, and yes, I'm very much over it by now!), but drooling over fabric always cheers me up ;o)

First up, Doe has finally arrived in Australia, and Frangipani Fabrics have a great selection in stock!

Frangipani also have 20% off all Japanese and Kids prints from now through 18th of September - and there are lots of gorgeous prints in these sections.

Polka Dot Tea stock a fantastic selection of Cotton Couture solids in their shop - and they will be starting a Cotton Couture Club very soon. If you're interested in signing up, please contact Danielle and Heidi and express your interest. I know I harp on about this all the time, but these solids are just divine and are my absolute solids of choice, so I for one am very excited about this club starting up!! If you can't wait, they do have this drool worthy bundle of rainbow goodness...

Becca at Sew Me a Song is running a fabulous sale on all bundles from now through Sunday, with 25% off all bundles. I've been busily trying to decide what fabric to use for my Farmers Wife sew along quilt - and I think I've narrowed it down to using my stash of Suzuko Koseki fabrics, so this bundle of Suzuko goodness is looking extremely appealing at the moment!

Last but certainly not least, Eden by Tula Pink has arrived at the Fat Quarter Shop! It's no secret that I'm a massive Tula fan (and I may have started a new Tula quilt this week despite feeling very under the weather - hoping to share some progress on that soon!) I am seriously drooling over the colours and prints in this collection!!

Happy shopping my friends!

Friday Fabric Finds

Welcome to the next installment of Friday Fabric Finds! These posts are where I share the latest and greatest fabrics in my sponsor's shops, and any sales or specials they are running at the moment. I have some great stuff to share with you today!

First up, Frangipani Fabrics have just created some gorgeous new Chic Neutrals bundles, inspired by the sophisticated modern blenders by Amy Ellis for Moda Fabrics. I love the colours in this bundle - it's very reminiscent of twilight, or a night in the city, with bright lights and heavy shadows. This bundle includes a few of one of my favorites too - Franklin by Denyse Schmidt. Frangipani are offering it for a special price too - 8 fat quarters for the price of 6!

Frangipani have also listed a bunch of upcoming classes, including a Graffiti Quilting class with yours truly. I am SO excited about teaching a free motion quilting class at last - and there has been a huge amount of interest already, so if you'd like to spend a day learning this super fun quilting technique with me you'll need to get in quick :o)

Polka Dot Tea fabrics have received a bunch of new fabrics this week, including the full collection of Doe by Carolyn Freidlander! This collection has taken a looong time to make it's way to Australia, and it is absolutely worth the wait. As always, Carolyn has created a range of incredibly useful fabrics, with loads of gorgeous textural prints in there.

Polka Dot Tea are also taking pre-orders for Heather Ross' upcoming collection Tiger Lily. Heather creates the most gorgeous whimsical prints, and the colours in this one are just divine - a lovely mix of saturated and soft. I can see some stunning children's quilts made with this collection!

At Sew Me a Song, Becca has been busy creating some fabulous scrappy bundles, including this Colour My World bundle of fat sixteenths - the perfect way to add some rainbow variety to your stash.

And if you need to stock up on some blue fabrics, Becca has also listed this lovely Colour Me Blue bundle stacked with polka dots, text fabrics and some lovely florals.

Finally, I have some other news to share. My friend Angie from Gnome Angel has just announced a Farmers Wife 1930s Sampler Quilt Sew Along that will kick off on 28th September. Angie is running this sew along in conjunction with the Fat Quarter Shop, and she has recruited a bunch of bloggers who, along with Angie, will be sharing block tutorials throughout the sew along (including me and many of my good bloggy friends!!). Angie has also curated a bundle of fabric for this quilt, available from Fat Quarter Shop.

Happy shopping! I hope you all have a fabulous weekend :o). I'm especially excited about this weekend - the Tasmanian Modern Quilt Guild are presenting a weekend of workshops with the uber talented Sarah Fielke! I am really looking forward to both of the workshops (improv words and step down piecing), and it will be really nice to be a student rather than teacher ;o) I'll be sure to share what I get up to on Instagram over the weekend, and hopefully in a blog post next week!

Friday Fabric Finds

It's been a long while between Friday Fabric Finds posts - but since I'm back to blogging a bit more regularly, you can expect to see these posts a little more frequently than the last few months ;o) These posts are where I share what's shiny and new in my sponsor's shops - and also share any sales or specials they have running.

I'm very excited to introduce a new blog sponsor today - a fabric shop very close to my heart - Frangipani Fabrics. Frangipani is a wonderful modern fabric shop in my home city, Hobart, and the place I teach each Thursday morning and most weekends. The shop has a wonderful welcoming atmosphere, and a great online shop (with free postage in Tasmania!) so I am delighted to have them on board as sponsors. Frangipani run lots of sewing and patchwork classes - including kids classes on a regular basis - and have organised for Kaffe Fasset and Brandon Mably to come to Tassie for some workshops and a lecture next year, which I am SO excited about. They also sell a huge range of patterns, notions and haberdashery so it really is a one stop shop for all your sewing supplies.

Frangipani have received a heap of new fabric this week that has just been listed online, including 24 bolts of Cotton and Steel (some of which may or may not have come home with me yesterday...) I hadn't seen the new basics - Sparkle - in real life until yesterday, and I think they're my favorites yet :o)

There are some fabulous new fabrics in my other sponsor's shops as well. Pink Castle Fabrics have just received Handcrafted 2 from Alison Glass - and for a short time you can buy a stash box of the complete range of Handcrafted 1 & 2 in fat eighths. I adore the saturated colours in these collections, they're just gorgeous. Even better, if you spend $50 or more at Pink Castle, you'll get a little yellow ticket (a Golden Ticket) that contains some sort of prize - and this year there are five grand prizes (including sewing machines, a years stash club subscription and more).

Polka Dot Tea Fabrics have the complete collection of Skopelos by Katarina Roccella for Art Gallery Fabrics available as a bundle or yardage. Art Gallery Fabrics are just divine to work with, and I love the colours in this collection.

One of my other absolute favorite fabrics to sew with are Cotton Couture (which would pair SO well with Art Gallery Fabric, they are both incredibly soft and luxurious). Polka Dot Tea stock an impressive range of colours of Cotton Couture, including black and white if you're intending on doing the Michael Miller fabric challenge for QuiltCon this year!!

At Sew me a Song, Becca has been busy creating some gorgeous bundles - including this aptly named 'never be at a loss for words' bundle. So much texty goodness!

And I'm a sucker for Suzuko Koseki prints - this bundle really caught my eye. Suzuko has such a great eye for colour and design and her fabrics often find their way into my projects :o)

Fat Quarter Shop have lots of new fabrics in store - one of my favorites is Imprint by Katarina Roccella. Also available is the Fractal Quilt Kit which features Imprint - and as I said earlier this week, it is a seriously fast and fun quilt to put together.

Happy shopping! I hope you all have a great weekend - mine will be filled with teaching and trying not to freeze (apparently we can expect snow down to 100m above sea level, not something we normally have to contend with in these parts!!)

Friday Fabric Finds

Welcome to Friday Fabric Finds, a weekly post where I share what's new in my sponsors shops, and any sales or specials that are currently running. I have some goodies to share with you today!

Polka.Dot.Tea Fabrics have just listed a couple of gorgeous collections in the shop. Folk Song by Anna Maria Horner has just arrived, in all it's glory. I think Anna Maria has done an amazing job curating prints from Good Folks and Little Folks for this collection - it is so lovely to be able to get these prints again!

Polka.Dot.Tea have also just listed Lighthearted, the debut collection from Ayumi Takahashi for Kokka. There are so many fantastic prints in this collection, I can see myself coming back to these time and time again.

Sew Me a Song is holding a Spring cleaning shop sale and clearance at the moment. There are loads of gorgeous fabrics in the Clearance section, and at 50% off it is a great chance to grab a bargain. One of my favorites is Prisma from Art Gallery Fabrics, such a great low volume print!

The Sale section (25% off) has lots of great stuff as well - one fabric I've used time and time again is another Art Gallery print, Confetti in Noir.

Pink Castle Fabrics have got lots of gorgeous new fabric in stock, including Leah Duncan's latest collection, Morning Walk.

Fat Quarter Shop have these fabulous Architextures bundles available - I picked one of these up at QuiltCon. Carolyn's cross hatch print is another one I keep coming back to time and time again, and it is great having it in so many colours!

I hope you all have a great weekend. I'll be teaching a student quilt workshop tomorrow alongside my work mates at Frangipani Fabrics. We'll have a group of about six 10 year olds (including my own 10 year old!), so I'm particularly excited (and a wee bit nervous) about what ideas they all come up with. It should be challenging, but a lot of fun!

Friday Fabric Finds

It's been a long while between Friday Fabric Finds posts, so I have quite a few lovely things from my sponsors to share with you today!

Polka.Dot.Tea have recently received a bunch of new Liberty prints, including these fabulous Alice in Wonderland prints. I've been reading an abridged version of Alice in Wonderland to my 4 year old daughter recently, and she is very keen on the idea of an Alice quilt. I may have ordered a bundle of these prints for that very purpose ;o)

Sew Me a Song is running a Spring Shipping Sale at the moment on all orders. Becca is offering flat rate shipping of $2.50 US/$9.00 Canada/$12.00 Everywhere Else. No coupon needed! As always there is a whole lot of gorgeous to choose from and it was really hard to choose something to share with you! I'm really drawn to these Irome Seasons bundles from Kokka - those soft greys are just beautiful.

Pink Castle Fabrics are offering a huge 40% off their entire range of apparel fabrics this weekend!  There is a tonne of gorgeous stuff in there, including Cotton & Steel lawns, Essex linen and much, much more.

One collection I've been awaiting is Tula Pink's latest and greatest - Elizabeth. It's very reminiscent of her Parisville collection from a couple of years ago I think, and the colours (as always) are incredible. The Fat Quarter Shop have the full collection of Elizabeth available now! It's hard to pick a favorite, but I really love the sky colourway.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Friday Fabric Finds #6

Welcome to Friday Fabric Finds, a weekly post where I share what's new in my sponsors shops along with sales and specials.

Polka Dot Tea Fabrics have just restocked Priory Square by Katy Jones. These are available as a complete bundle, or yardage. Please contact Danielle and Jeannette via their Etsy shop to order yours :o)

Pink Castle Fabrics have just released another limited edition Fat Eighth box of Cotton and Steel prints. Each bundle includes 50 different prints, no repeats!

FabricWorm have Sarah Watson's gorgeous Biology collection in stock. There are so many gorgeous prints in this collection, and lots of extremely useful ones to boot.

It's always really hard to choose what to share from Sew Me a Song, but I am loving these Kei text prints. I have a few of these in my stash, and they are absolutely gorgeous. They're a linen/cotton blend and would make the most gorgeous bags and cushions.

Fat Quarter Shop are taking reservations now for the complete kit to make Jaybird Quilts Gravity quilt. Kits are expected to ship in February. This is one quilt that's on my bucket list, it is such a striking design!

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! Our kids go back to school next week, so I'm hoping I'll have some sewing progress to share soon (there still isn't much of that going on round here!)

Friday Fabric Finds

Welcome to Friday Fabric Finds, a weekly post where I share the latest and greatest fabric and sales from my sponsors.

One of the collections I've been eagerly awaiting is Doe by Carolyn Friedlander, and it has started hitting shops over the last few weeks. One of the things that really appeals to me about Carolyn's designs is how useful they are, and the number of fantastic low volume prints she includes in her collections. Nearly every quilt I've made since Architextures came out has included at least one of her low volume prints - they really are my go-to neutrals. Doe is no different - the neutrals are so versatile and there are lots in this collection! I'm trying very hard to not buy fabric before I travel to QuiltCon in a few weeks, but it is getting increasingly hard to resist temptation!!

You can find Doe at FabricWorm, Pink Castle Fabrics, Fat Quarter Shop and it is available for pre-order at Polka Dot Tea Fabrics for us Aussies.

Pink Castle Fabrics are currently offering 20% off all bundles, from now through Sunday 25th January. Just use the code BUNDLE20 at checkout to get the discount. There are more than 150 bundles to choose from, so have fun browsing :o)

Sew Me a Song have the complete collection of Moonshine by Tula Pink available, either as a complete bundle or separate prints. I've just started an EPP project using these and Tula's Fox Fields collection and they play beautifully together.

Happy shopping!

xx Jess
