I know, not very impressive. But if I tell you there are around 250 of the little buggers in there, can you try to be impressed? Please? I'm almost positive that there is no chance in hell of me getting it done by the first of June (although I might try... we'll have to see!)
Part of the reason for not working on it so much this week, is the Joyce baby quilt I need to make. Every time I see my VERY pregnant friend (our kids are at the same school) she looks more ready to pop. So I decided I needed to get this done before the retro flowers. Cue pulling fabrics on Monday to make Come What May (a Jaybird quilts pattern). I started with the super cute robot print from Rashida Coleman-Hale and pulled some fabrics that kind of went with it (Modern Workshop, DS, AMH and Creative Thursday).
Cutting on Monday night and Tuesday, piecing Tuesday and Wednesday nights and I have a quilt top done (yay for quick piecing!) Not the best photo - rainy days mean no outdoor photo opportunities!
I really need some honest feedback on this. I'm not sure it works. I love all the fabrics in there, I'm just not sure they work that well in this quilt. Does it look ok? Is it just too much?
Back to pressing and trimming for me!

Well I'm certainly impressed by your retro flowers piecing, even if it's hard to tell that there are a few hundred in that container! I'm nervous about curves. :)
The baby quilt looks great, I think. I like to try to imagine how something will look, all quilted and washed and crinkly, and then it totally works! Yeah, it's colourful and busy, but totally perfect for a baby quilt I think! It'll be great.
The colours in the quilt are so bright and fresh and all work really well together. I love it. Your friend will love it and so will her baby.

I'd put a co-ordinating solids border on and I am sure that would frame it nicely!

I would try with a white border, I think it could add a nice touch !

I love it!! I'm not one for borders so I'd keep it as is. I really like the pattern and they are fun fabrics. Perfect for a baby quilt. Colourful is so much more interesting! And it's not too busy, the long strips give a place for your eyes to rest. Gorgeous! Xx

I love the quilt. I think the colours work great together. Sometimes you see ones in generic colours. I like how this one stands out from all the others. Plus the colours mean it can be loved for years and never be too babyish =D

I really love the pattern of the quilt - sure, robots and plaids are the two things that make me a bit surprised being in the same spot (as a kid free household - all sorts of different things work when there's kids involved!), but the color combination is just fabulous.
It's a little busy. I think it would have worked well if you ditched one or two of the prints for solids. But I do like it. I think it's fun and the colors are great. Any little kid would love to

I love it and the woven pattern works great in the patterns. Jodi at Tickle and Hide did a woven solid awhile ago then sold it in a sale and is now making another.. If you wanted to see how it looked as a solid check out her blog a few months back--not sure if she bordered it or not?
