My children DEVOUR sushi like you would not believe. I've never paper pieced either, but if that's what a beginner can do, maybe I should try it sometime!! And I love that Japanese style, you know, given we'll be there in a month. I'll have to keep my eye out for that pattern!

Sushi? Not my cup of tea. The rest of my family loves sushi though so I usually get sticks and noodles instead.

Great job on the paper piecing! I really want to try some fun designs like these, but will have to do a few other things first.
As for sushi, I'm a bit of a heathen and I haven't got a clue what they are all called, but it tastes good enough!

Oh I love a good veggie sushi, as long as there's no avocado, and I do like some of the prawn related ones. Still annoyed that the shop that made my favourite sushi has changed their options in their snack pack, it's not as nice now!

I am really not a fan of sushi !!
Maybe I should try the veggie ones because raw fish disgust me a little.

Oh Jess, my boys LOVE sushi. I like California rolls -- but do you know how much it costs to fill up teenage boys on sushi? Lucky, My Little Sailor is now stationed in Japan and can buy his own sushi!

Aunt Marti said...

Oh! And I added your blog to Google Reader.

stephmabry said...

Sushi? I ate that once, out of total peer pressure! My husband and I were at a party for all the new biology dept. graduate students where he goes to school, and when we were going around the buffet, I was like "oh, sushi, maybe I should try that," since I'd never had it before. Of course, then I had to...and it was awful. :( It was just a California roll, but that seaweed or whatever it is that wraps it together? Boo!

Ella said...

I only eat veggie sushi. I don't like fish and am allergic to some.

My favorite things to get at the sushi-go-rounds are Inari (tofu pocket of rice), Tamago (basically scrambled egg with a touch of soy sauce over a bit of sushi rice), and Ebi Tempura (batter-fried shrimp on a bit of sushi rice). I usually get edamame and maybe a bowl of udon to go with it all. No fish! So much yum!
