Full disclosure - Aurifil sent me this thread to give away on my blog, but the words and thoughts on Aurifil are completely my own. I have been using this thread for the last 12 months or so and I haven't looked back.
I apologise, but due to the massive number of comments I'm not able to respond to each one. I'm enjoying reading them all though!
For quilting - Aurifil! Partly because I have such beautiful colours of it already, but mostly because it works!
ReplyDeleteI currently have white Aurifil on the machine but also use white or off-white Coats as it is readily available at the craft store 2 miles down the road and when you run out you gotta get what you can where you can!!!
ReplyDeleteI have only used a tiny amount of Aurifil which I won...I loved it!! Thanks for this chance
ReplyDeleteI'm very new to quilting so I use whatever I have (mainly Gutermann), but I read a lot about Aurifil and would love to try it (unfortunately it's difficult to get hold of it where I live).
ReplyDeleteI am a sorry, horrible quilter and usually buy what's cheapest! I have transitioned to understanding fabric differences but it's hard for me to pay so much for thread! I really need to try some so I can see the difference!
ReplyDeleteI only use Aurifil gray (either the light or the dark) for piecing when quilting. It's just perfect!
ReplyDeleteUsually use Connecting Threads, but would love to try Aurifil!
ReplyDeleteI love my Aurifil threads.Work like a dream on the long arm machine as well as the domestic.
ReplyDeleteI use Aurifil and Superior thread, mostly off-white, light gray and dark gray. Thanks for the chances to win!

ReplyDeleteI've been using Aurifil for about 8 months and mostly use #2021 for piecing. Fabulous giveaway Jess, and thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI've just started using Aurifil thread (mainly because I kept hearing about it on various quilt blogs) and I really like it. I also like Gutermann and Mettler threads.
ReplyDeleteI haven't gotten to try Aurifil yet, I think tomorrow when I take my machine in to be serviced I will go to the one place where they have it and buy a couple of spools. Right now I mostly use Gutermann. I love verigated thread and Gutermann has quite a good selection of them. :D
ReplyDeleteI adore aurifil.
ReplyDeleteI`m a huge aurifil fan, too. I haven`t used it much for quilting since I have a longarm but I`m hoping to order one of the mega cones and try it out.
ReplyDeleteI am not married to any one thread, but I do use Aurifil 50wt for all piecing as much as I can. It's a thinner thread and seems to "sink down" better and thus help make the seams less bulky. I'd love to try some of Aurifil's other threads though! Thanks for the chance :)
ReplyDeleteI use Aurifil when I can get it. Gutermann when I can't.
ReplyDeleteoh dear..I'm new to quilting and I'm ashamed to say nothing as fancy.. I've just been using the all purpose thread spools at wal-mart.
ReplyDeleteI do all of my piecing with Aurifil and love it... for quilting it varies. Thanks for a great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win a great prize.

I am still trying many threads. I like Superior Threads King Tut, I like Aurafil 50, 40 and 12 wt but mostly 40 wt for quilting, I like Valdani 50 wt, and Sulky all for quilting. I did not realize I would end up with a thread stash but I seem to have a full drawer and a lot of colours. This is a lovely giveaway, I would love to win, thank you for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI so want to try Aurifil. At the moment, I tend to use Wonderfil and Gutemann quilting threads, and I like them, but they're not totally filling me with joy.

ReplyDeleteOnce I tried Aurifill there was no return... It's a bit hard to get here though as I have to order it from UK and selecting colors online can be tough. Luckily I have world-class Cindy (from fluffysheepquilting) who is always kind to match the thread to fabrics with her color chart.
ReplyDeleteI mainly use threads from Superior but would love to give Aurifil a try...thanks for the sweet giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI do not have a favourite thread, but I would love to get to try why everyone is so in love with Aurifil! Thanks for the chance to win.

I did not know there were such beautiful threads! She told me she only uses Aurifil as she does so much embroidery with her machine. I hope to get some after Christmas when I have time and money to shop.

ReplyDeleteI would love to try Aurifil, as I hear it's the best. I currently will use anything.

ReplyDeleteI love quilting with Aufifil, the colors are perfect! I can always find the color that best suits my project! My machine loves the no lint thread...the Egyptian cotton runs as smooth as glass through it and makes beautiful clean stitches. Thanks for the giveaway. My "stash" is small but I am working on expanding...no other will do!!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the fantastic giveaway!
I started out using mettler, because that's what my quilt shop offered; since then I have used aurifil. It is a fantastic thread with little or no lint left behind. I tend to use a lot of gray or tan. It is a wonderful addition to my otherwise wonky piecing.

ReplyDeleteI've only used Aurifil once and it kept breaking on me. I'd love to try it again and see if it was just the thread/quilt combo or the machine. (And if it is the machine, I'll use it to piece! I've never tried that, but have heard great things about it.)
