When you have a million projects on the go, should you work on the highest priority first? Well, yes. Did I? Ah, no. I finished making my Groove quilt top instead :o)
I'm making the lap sized version - this measures about 60" x 72". Because I knew I'd be working with some pretty long seams I starched the crap out of these fabrics - more akin to sewing paper than fabric!
I love this quilt already. And for once, I'm ahead of schedule (I nearly fainted when I realised the link up for this QAL isn't until the middle of October. October, people! I have six weeks to get it quilted!)
So once I've finished sweary Tula and caught up on our QAL as well as bee blocks, I'll be all set to quilt this baby. From the very beginning this quilt has always been about the quilting for me, and I'm SO pumped to get started :oD
xx Jess
Love your top! I haven't even cut my fabrics yet. I will be lucky to have my top done by the middle of October! But I am going to try and still do it... I do wish I would have realized that the entire pattern wasn't made into 4 different sizes. I love what she posted on the pattern front (I think it was a twin or queen size) and the lap size (the only size I could afford to make) is missing some awesome curves/colors. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteIt's fabulous Jess!
ReplyDeleteGroovy indeed, it looks fantastic Jess. So many curves though!
ReplyDeleteLooking great, very smooth curves! Aack only six weeks - I'm barely 1/4 of the way through piecing mine.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely L-O-V-E your color choices!!!! You've done a great job! Can't wait to see the finished quilt!
ReplyDeletedont wait, keep going, quilt now! haha Otherwise you'll forget and it will sit in the basket of doom!!! its gorgeous, love teh colors
ReplyDeleteso effing cool!!!!! I love the colour scheme :-D
ReplyDeleteWOW !!! love the colours... groovy baby
ReplyDeleteFabulous! I love it!
ReplyDeleteI'm still waiting for my fabric to arrive! and like KellyS I didn't realise the size I'm making (lap) wouldn't have all the curves!
Love this and the colours you chose! I am not QAl but have the pattern that I need to make sooner rather than later!
ReplyDeleteJess, you have to stop making such fabby things - my must do list keeps growing!
ReplyDeleteThat's something I was thinking about the other day. Do you work on what needs to be done first or on what will be done the fastest ?
ReplyDeleteIf you have a long list of things to do, it can be nice to cross things off fast because you do the things that don't take long. Or you can do the things that needs to be done first but that take longer...
And that quilt top is soo pretty ! I love the colors you chose :)
It looks fantastic, I LOVE the colours! Can't wait to see how you quilt it!
ReplyDeleteHm, maybe I'll make it by the middle of October. Yours looks fantastic - I love it in those colors.
ReplyDeleteSo groovy!!
ReplyDeleteGroovy, way to crank out that quilt top!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors in your Groove quilt! I'm still working on my top.

ReplyDeleteThe colors in this are so fantastic together! Beautiful quilt top!
ReplyDeleteI haven't even cut my fabric! Yours looks really nice. I joined the QAL thinking it would help me get over my allergy to solids but I can't bring myself to even cut into them! I enjoy looking at everyone's finishes though. Can't wait to see how you quilt it.
ReplyDeleteLove this Jess! You have me wanting to make my own now!
ReplyDeleteThis looks fantastic! You totally beat me and I am the host lol! Gotta love starch!
