Full disclosure - Aurifil sent me this thread to give away on my blog, but the words and thoughts on Aurifil are completely my own. I have been using this thread for the last 12 months or so and I haven't looked back.
I apologise, but due to the massive number of comments I'm not able to respond to each one. I'm enjoying reading them all though!

I currently have white Aurifil on the machine but also use white or off-white Coats as it is readily available at the craft store 2 miles down the road and when you run out you gotta get what you can where you can!!!
I have only used a tiny amount of Aurifil which I won...I loved it!! Thanks for this chance
I'm very new to quilting so I use whatever I have (mainly Gutermann), but I read a lot about Aurifil and would love to try it (unfortunately it's difficult to get hold of it where I live).
I am a sorry, horrible quilter and usually buy what's cheapest! I have transitioned to understanding fabric differences but it's hard for me to pay so much for thread! I really need to try some so I can see the difference!
I only use Aurifil gray (either the light or the dark) for piecing when quilting. It's just perfect!
Usually use Connecting Threads, but would love to try Aurifil!
I love my Aurifil threads.Work like a dream on the long arm machine as well as the domestic.
I use Aurifil and Superior thread, mostly off-white, light gray and dark gray. Thanks for the chances to win!
I use Gutermann threads and I`d love try Aurifil!
I have just discovered Aurifil (which i have to order online from overseas) and it is the only thread my longarmreally likes. Thanks for the chance to enter
I've been using Aurifil for about 8 months and mostly use #2021 for piecing. Fabulous giveaway Jess, and thanks for the chance to win.
I've just started using Aurifil thread (mainly because I kept hearing about it on various quilt blogs) and I really like it. I also like Gutermann and Mettler threads.
I haven't gotten to try Aurifil yet, I think tomorrow when I take my machine in to be serviced I will go to the one place where they have it and buy a couple of spools. Right now I mostly use Gutermann. I love verigated thread and Gutermann has quite a good selection of them. :D
I adore aurifil.
I`m a huge aurifil fan, too. I haven`t used it much for quilting since I have a longarm but I`m hoping to order one of the mega cones and try it out.
I am not married to any one thread, but I do use Aurifil 50wt for all piecing as much as I can. It's a thinner thread and seems to "sink down" better and thus help make the seams less bulky. I'd love to try some of Aurifil's other threads though! Thanks for the chance :)
I use Aurifil when I can get it. Gutermann when I can't.
oh dear..I'm new to quilting and I'm ashamed to say nothing as fancy.. I've just been using the all purpose thread spools at wal-mart.
I do all of my piecing with Aurifil and love it... for quilting it varies. Thanks for a great giveaway!
Thanks for the chance to win a great prize.
Definitely Aurifil! I would love to win that color card!
Ganhei uma pequena amostra e usei para meus hexágonos, achei muito forte
.Obrigada.

I have always used plain old Coats and Clark, but I would really like to try some Aurifil!
My current favorite is King Tut. I've never tried Aurifil. I've heard a lot of good things and would like to try it.
I love to use cotton thread in quilting. Somehow it just makes it all turn out better. thanks!
I have just ordered 2 spools of Aurifil Mako 40 weight in white! I LOVE it!
At the moment I've only used Guterman and Signature, would love to try others though.
I use Aurifil 50wt cotton for most everything, piecing and quilting.
I currently use Guterman, I've not had the chance to try Aurifil, but have heard so many good things about it that I would love to give it a go!
I haven't used Aurifil thread yet so I tend to use Gutermann.
all I've ever used is generic all purpose! I'd love to try something nicer :)
xoxo melzie4boyz@aol.com
I am still trying many threads. I like Superior Threads King Tut, I like Aurafil 50, 40 and 12 wt but mostly 40 wt for quilting, I like Valdani 50 wt, and Sulky all for quilting. I did not realize I would end up with a thread stash but I seem to have a full drawer and a lot of colours. This is a lovely giveaway, I would love to win, thank you for the chance.
I so want to try Aurifil. At the moment, I tend to use Wonderfil and Gutemann quilting threads, and I like them, but they're not totally filling me with joy.
The last quilt I quilted, I used Aurifil for the first time. Loved it.
I have recently discovered the wonder of Aurifil Thread Cotton Mako 50wt & I LOVE it. Thanks for the chance to win.
I normally use Rasant thread but I have never tried Aurifil! I would love to win some!
I have not had a chance to use Aurifil yet. I have used Gutterman and Isacord.
What a generous give away. I use a lot of various threads depending on the piece and how I plan to quilt - machine or hand.
I've only ever used Gutermann...it's readily available. I'd love to try Aurifil.
I love Aurifil. Use it all the time!
I haven't been quilting long enough to have a favorite! But I've heard such wonderful things about aurifil!
For years I'd been using Coats & Clark (on a crappy machine)... I started buying better fabric, bought a better machine, and realized I needed better fabric! I've gone through two of the big spools of Aurifil so far and I love it! I'm going to experiment with a few more too though!
I don't have a favourite thread, but maybe that's because I've never tried Aurifil!!!
I love love love Aurifil thread!! I use it all the time for piecing and quilting!! Thanks so much for a chance to win!!
I have been using Gutterman but last night, for the first time I tried some Aurifil - very impressed so far!
im usually a gutter man gal - but i'd love to get my hands on this and try some!! i've heard wonderful things
I love Aurifil thread too. It is all I will use in my machine now. Love it for applique too.
I love the way the Aurofil 50 just blends in to the fabric... i have been wanting to try the Lana wool threads
I use Gutermann usually, just easier to access but I have heard such good things about Aurifil and would love to try...
Thanks for the giveaway :)
I am an Aurifil girl now!!! I have seen the light. It will take a while to build up a good supply, but you have some things that would help :-)
I use Gutermann threads, thanks
Once I tried Aurifill there was no return... It's a bit hard to get here though as I have to order it from UK and selecting colors online can be tough. Luckily I have world-class Cindy (from fluffysheepquilting) who is always kind to match the thread to fabrics with her color chart.
I mainly use threads from Superior but would love to give Aurifil a try...thanks for the sweet giveaway!
I do not have a favourite thread, but I would love to get to try why everyone is so in love with Aurifil! Thanks for the chance to win.
I use mainly Guetermann as this is the most common we can get here! Would love to try this Aurifil!
I love to use Aurifil too :) It's such lovely thread!
Auricil is wonderful and boy would I love to win some!
I am fairly new to your blog but sure am enjoying what I see. Your Groove quilt is totally awesome! That quilt is actually the reason I'm now a follower. ;)
Happy Holidays!!
My very favorite thread for quilting is Superior So Fine and Bottomline.
Raf opter says I need to leave another commeng but not what about.
Soooo.....I want to wish a very Merry Christmas to all and Peace on Earth and
Good Will toward men.
I love Aurifil so much, I bought the biggest cone you can get ;-) Thanks for the chance to win.
I bought some aurifil earlier this year and have used that ever since on everything!
I use Gutermann because I haven't found any Aurifil yet!!
Aurifil needs to permeate the AU market some more!
I only use Aurifil for quilting - and I am running low!!!
I usually use Gutterman but would love to try Aurifil :) I'm not sure we have it in Israel...
I am brand new to quilting so all I've used is regular thread from my local store. I must try Aurifil - I keep hearing wonderful things about it. Thanks for the chance!

I often end up using Gutermann due to availability but I love Aurifil and would like a chance to get some more!
Thanks for the opportunity to win! I'm excited to give it a go with Aurifil!
A friend gave me her machine and it had the most beautiful thread left in the bobbin. I am so new to quilting and live in a very rural area. I did not know there were such beautiful threads! She told me she only uses Aurifil as she does so much embroidery with her machine. I hope to get some after Christmas when I have time and money to shop.
I'm a Gutermann man :) I've been wanting to try Aurifil though. I just got a long arm and I haven't decided what is the best thread for it yet. It came with Superior/King Tut.
Great prizes!
I love Aurifil and almost feel to sorry to use it.
Aurifil...of course!!!
I would love to try Aurifil, as I hear it's the best. I currently will use anything.
I'm not an everyday quilter, but I have noticed I'm becoming a bit of a thread-snob. Gutermann, Sulky, and a few others fill my thread boxes. I've been reading a ton about Aurifil lately and am dying to get my hands on some to try it out.
Aurifil 40wt mostly, but sometimes cotonthread by 'groene clown'.
I love this thread and am slowly getting through my others and making it my primary yhread.
I normally use YLI or R/A, I haven't ever had Aurifil, but would love to have a chance to try it out.
I have been using Essentials Pro from connecting thread. I haven't ventured out to try anything else yet, but the Aurifil sounds marvelous!
I use the neutral colors for piecing but would love some of the other beautiful colors for quilting.
What a great giveaway - love aurifil thread :-)
Have a great day.
I only use Aurifil! It's THE BEST!
I use Metterler thread a lot, but I would love to try Aurifil. Thanks for the giveaway!
My favorite thread is Aurofil 50 white - I use it for both piecing and quilting! Thanks for this great giveaway ~ I'm hoping to win a cotton thread sampler as I wouldn't have a need for the wool thread.
I bought 2 spools of Aurifil to try out and I love it. the stitches are so neat and precise. Would love some more.
I love threads. Have not tried many Aurifils but would love to expand my narrow experience!
I have only used Gutermann so far. Looking forward to trying Aurifil.
I am anxious to use up my SOB (some other brand) and then I will be buying Aurifil. I hear SO much about Aurifil.
I love quilting with Aufifil, the colors are perfect! I can always find the color that best suits my project! My machine loves the no lint thread...the Egyptian cotton runs as smooth as glass through it and makes beautiful clean stitches. Thanks for the giveaway. My "stash" is small but I am working on expanding...no other will do!!
I have only used YLI fir hand quilting but love sewing with Auriful .
I love Aurifil - the texture of it is wonderful, and it just looks delicious when quilted!
I've never had the chanceto try Aurifil, so/i've always been a Gutterman girl. Thanks for the chance to win! :)
Where do I type on this comment thing? Ive not seen this before.
I have only just started my first ever small quilting piece, I didn't know you would use different threads!
An Aurifil sample would be awesome!
foundnessie@hotmail.com
I love Aurifil for piecing as it helps my accuracy. Your Groove quilt is AMAZING!
I am still fairly new to quilting but have sewn forever. I usually just use the Thread art brand thread that I use for everything. I had never heard of the aurifil brand of threads. This would be a perfect oppourtunity for me to try it.
conn_and_vans_mom(at)yahoo(dot)com
Would be nice to win. I've not tried it yet and would love to have the chance.
I have not yet tried this brand of thread and would love to win some to try out. I especially enjoy variegated threads. Thank you :)
I am just using my first aurifil thread on a Christmas quilt. It is wonderful...smooth sailing. Thanks for the giveaway.
I think the best I have used so far is YLI, but I haven't tried Aurifil yet!
Aurifil!
Thanks for the fantastic giveaway!
I started out using mettler, because that's what my quilt shop offered; since then I have used aurifil. It is a fantastic thread with little or no lint left behind. I tend to use a lot of gray or tan. It is a wonderful addition to my otherwise wonky piecing.
I love Aurifil and would love to win more! Love your blog site also.
I love Gutermann, but Aurifil isn't sold anywhere near here (and I like to support the LQS)!
I use aurifil thread for most of my quilting and sewing projects. It would be nice to have a few more colors.
Thanks!
I use Coats and Clark, only because there are not any stores that sell Aurifil in my little town. I have purchased a few spools off the internet, and I agree that I notice less lint and smoother stitches. Thanks for the give away!
oh my goodness - please pick me! i've been so eager to try out aurafil but unable to make a purchase due to finances. i have heard such good things about it!!!
I only have a couple Aurifil neutral colors and would love to have a color card or some other colors to play with.
I use Gutermann, but really want to give Aurufil a go!
Aurifil naturally! Thanks Aurifil and Jess for such a fab giveaway!
I use Gütermann as it's availible ehre in Malta locally and I havn't been able to find another brand here I feel I can trust. I've never used Aurifil but I'd love to try it after reading so much good about them from so many quiltbloggers. I order everything else I need for quilting online, why not thread too? ^^
I have not many Aurifil threads, but those I have are used for my little quilts. I will be very happy to win the give away and thank you for the chance !! Happy Christmas.!!
I too love Aurafil, I had one large spool of grey that rolled on the floor when I took my machine to the shop. Apparently my puppy likes it to because he chewed it up. I am still so sad. It was rendered useless.
Aurifil thread has been my favorite for awhile now. I gave away all the other thread in my stash and use Aurifil exclusively. Would love to win some more!!!
I am loving Aurifil for my quilting... love the variety of colours and the quality is exceptional!!
My year-end goal is to have it all! Won't make it but it will be fun trying.
I have been using Mettler white but I just purchased a spool of Aurifil in an off-white the other day and am anxious to try it out. Would love to try some new colors!
I only have a small amount of Aurifil that I won in a giveaway last year. When I used it for quilting - it did work extremely smoothly. I was hoping to get more soon (winning would help!).
Thanks for the great giveaway, Jess!
Love aurifil. It's the only thread I use.
Aurifil is number one and I am in love with Alex. Wonder if he needs a wife, daughter, mother, etc.
Love aurifil. It's the only thread I use.
I use 100 % cotton Coats because thats what is in the stores
I've just recently discovered Aurifil as none of the LQS here carry it. I love the 50 wt for piecing! It does a much nicer job that other threads I've used.
I mainly use Gutermann, because you can get that everywhere. Aurifil is really hard to get, I have to mailorder to have it, so I haven't tried it until now. But I'd love to.
I usually use Superior thread for my piecing and quilting but would love to try so Aurifil.

Hi Jess - I entered through the widget thingy, but missed out on putting in a comment! So here it is!!
thanks so much for hosting this giveaway - haven't used Aurifil yet - not for any reason, just not the opportunity, so crossing my fingers here - people's eyes light up when they speak of it, so it must be magic stuff!!!

I use Aurifil white, but I would love to try some other colors! Thank you!
I typically buy huge spools of something to piece with - and whatever is on sale, when it's time to quilt (if I'm doing it myself - rare). I have no idea about brands, but this brand seems to have a lot of good reviews - I'd love to try it. Thanks for the opportunity.
I've only used Aurifil once and it kept breaking on me. I'd love to try it again and see if it was just the thread/quilt combo or the machine. (And if it is the machine, I'll use it to piece! I've never tried that, but have heard great things about it.)
Ive used Aurifil once and loved the way it behaved and looked. Just wish we had a local dealer. Thanks for the chance to win.
I usually use Guttermann or whatever else I have on hand. I'm new to quilting, so am just learning the differences in thread. I've heard many good things about Aurifil and would love to try it. :)
I use Coats and Clark because that is what I have available. I would love to try Aurifil and have been trying to win some for about 6 months now.
I use Aurifil 50 wt for machine quilting and applique.
I don't have a favorite thread! I don't have access to a LQS with many options and I just don't know what to try! This would be a great way to start!
I use Mettler. I've always used it I think because that's what my mom uses. I've been hearing a lot about Aurifil lately though and would love to give it a try! Thanks!
