WiP Wednesday

I've been working on a couple of projects over the last few days - primarily my item for the Sew Seasonal Blog Hop (which I'll post later tonight).

I've been gradually cutting and sticking squares and rectangles onto my design wall for Joyce baby quilt take 2. I'm basing it on Rashida's awesome quilt pattern in her I *heart* Patchwork book - but I'm using a variety of greys instead of solid linen. What I love about it is that it only uses a fairly small amount of each print - so big scraps can work really well :o)

It's a bit of an eye spy quilt using heaps of my very favorite fabrics (mostly Saffron Craig) - lots of bugs and birds and plants in there :o) It still looks like a bit of a mess, but think I like where it's heading. Oh Katy, my design board has been moved a bit - my beautiful hoop usually has pride of place and isn't hidden there ;o)

My little girl is starting to drop her daytime sleep (far too early as far as I'm concerned!) - but she had a big sleep today which meant I got a lot of quilting done. I know I said I wasn't going to show this again until it is gifted, but I'm a bit stuck and I'd love your thoughts. Do you think I should quilt some random lines of pebbles in the curved lines, or leave it as is?

The dark bits are where it's still wet from getting the marking off ;o)

I'm really undecided.

Hope everyone is having a great week! Linking up with WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced - look forward to seeing what everyone is up to.

xx Jess

  1. Sorry, I'm no help, my quilting is limited to in the ditch or occassionally other varieties of straight lines! I'm in awe of this quilting already!

  2. I think a little bit of pebbles would look great - but it already looks great, so....

Also love the plus quilt! So bright and fun.

  5. I love it just as it is, but I am sure it would look nice with pebbles too. Aren't I super helpful ;-)

  6. I love plus quilts and your blocks are beautiful. I can't assist with quilting - I will only hinder and not help.

  8. I like pebbles; but it looks great the way it is too. Sometimes it is best to leave it alone....lol. Less is better.
