The priority for June is to get the secret quilt finished (I started quilting today, and it's going reasonably well considering the size) before the July deadline. Oh and to get a start on another secret project due in August. I'm not a fan of panic sewing ;o)
My parcel for the second month of Bring Me Flowers (the 2013 Amitie BOM) arrived today - it's spurred me on to actually cut and start hand piecing my May blocks tonight :o) I'm also a wee bit excited - we are going to Melbourne for a week over the next school holidays (in July) and I've forewarned the family that I will be spending at least a morning at Amitie. I have a grumbling consent, so I'm saving my pennies :o) Do my Melbourne peeps have any other patchwork shops you think I should visit?
A couple of weeks ago, I bought a pattern in the Sew Mama Sew pattern sale - Figgy's Nituna Jacket pattern. My little girl has grown out of her jacket from last winter, so I'd love to make her this one for this year. She refuses to wear skirts and dresses, so I figure at least this way she can wear something I've made! Before I started quilting, I did a bit of garment making, so I'm hoping I'm not jumping in the deep end too much...
Another squishy parcel arrived today as well - some pieces of the upcoming Collage line by Such Designs (I get to play with these for the Fat Quarterly's designer challenge). I'm
Lastly, I've finally pulled my finger out and started making a couple of baby quilts to list in my Madeit shop - I love that this design effectively makes two quilts at once! They'll finish up at around 40" square. Hoping to get these done in the next week or so.
So do you have any grand sewing plans for winter (or summer for you northerners)? Please tell me I'm not the only one who makes ridiculously big lists...
xx Jess

The jacket will be perfect for your little girl! Rathdowne Remnants might be a place to shop for fabric for that if you don't get it made before your Melbourne visit. Then you can dash up the road to G&J Fabrics! And the "Bring me Flowers" looks fabulous too! You have a lot on the go!
oh that jacket is adorable!! Love the baby quilt. Oh man don't even get me started on my list or the piles of fabric I have waiting for projects!!
Cute jacket! Yay for you coming to the mainland, wish I lived closer!
G&J fabrics is excellent, and you could also try Patchwork on Central Park. Unfortunately those two and Amitie are all in different parts of Melbourne! Love the collage fabric - on my wish list for later this year. Looking forward to seeing what you make with it :-)
There are always so many sewing plans being made here.
I love that cute little jacket.
I can't wait to read all about your trip and the shopping.
I'm actually in a HUGE sewing rut right now. I have NO plans, no ideas, nothing! Honestly, it is quite bumming considering I have a blog, but I guess we all go through those creative ruts sometimes. Your projects on the other hand look fabulous. I love that jacket!
I always have a list and try to plan out when I'm doing what. It sounds very controlling but if I don't my sewing time just slips away. Have fun with your list! Di x
Good luck with your plans Jess - that jacket is so cute! It reminds me of the wool Bereber jackets they sell here up in the mountains :)
Heh, that was a pretty short list for me ;o) Have fun in Melbourne, don't forget to stop and enjoy the food!
That jacket is going to be so so cute!
These look like some lovely projects to do over winter - have fun in Melbourne.
Super cute coat! Can't wait to see what you come up with this winter (on the other side of the world while I'm sweltering through a hot hot summer!)
I love Figgy's patterns.
I am so far behind in my day-to-day life with housework and kids to even think about making a list of creative projects for winter. I would love to crochet myself a pair of slippers at some point, but other than that I will just keep on chipping away at the same old quilt I have been working on for nearly two years now.
Good luck with all of your plans and have fun in Melbourne.
Jess you are brilliant! I have to make two baby quilts for July and the starflower block would be perfect because you do get 241! Rainbow starflower(s) here I come!
